Why Flowers?

Graduation Flowers

Saint Thérèse of Lisieux believes the splendor of the rose does not diminish the whiteness of the lily.

Or the perfume of the violet, or the simplicity of the daisy. “Nature would lose her springtime beauty,” she says, if it did.

In the garden of God’s Easter People, not all are called to be a rose. This is why we must wake up to smell all of God’s flowers, not just one of them. Each possesses its own exceptional truth, beauty, and goodness. God does not wish for me to become St. Thérèse, Confirmation saint of mine that she is; He wishes for me to become St. Lindsay “Lou” Gray of Mesa, Arizona.

God’s garden is a gift.

The Lord blesses us with a splendid, innumerable variety of flowers in His garden of life. It is my joy to stop to observe and share about how God reveals Himself to His people in both ordinary and extraordinary circumstances alike.

On Stop to Smell the Flowers, fiction and non-fiction reflections celebrate the gift of the garden and the glory of the Gardener.
